That would be a month from now - Sometime during LinuxWorld, which
starts of February 14th.

This public beta 2 has been out for quite a while. We built a i386
version of S.L. a week or two after it was out. We called it our
Pre-Alpha release, but we didn't release it.

Why did we release this?

One of the main reasons was that their beta had ALOT of stuff in it,
that RedHat had already ripped out of RHEL 3. Basically if you want to
see their public beta 2, get Fedora Core 3 and change some graphics.
We are quite certain that RedHat is going to rip some stuff, and change
some stuff. For example, the default Gnome Desktop was totally
redesigned from Beta 1 to Beta 2, so we have no idea what it will look
like at the final release.

So in the end, we didn't see releasing the Pre-Alpha as saving any work,
only creating alot of work for very little benefit.

We will be coming out in the next couple of weeks with ways that people
can help, but that was going to be sent to the scientific-linux-devel
lists.
Actually there is already a call for graphics. But nobody has responded
yet.
