I have a computer with two WD 750G disks and Scientific Linux release
7.0 (Nitrogen) installed from SL Live. I simply used the install option
that appeared after booting it. It asked about the disks to be used and
I selected both and checked the boxes for a RAID-1 install assuming that
it would format the the drives as necessary. Was I wrong?

I ask because the resulting install is not what I expected.

]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb7 50G 5.1G 45G 11% /
devtmpfs 3.7G 0 3.7G 0% /dev
tmpfs 3.7G 148K 3.7G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 3.7G 72M 3.6G 2% /run
tmpfs 3.7G 0 3.7G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 3.7G 1.1M 3.7G 1% /tmp
/dev/sdb8 583G 116G 467G 20% /home
/dev/sdb5 497M 171M 326M 35% /boot

It does not appear to have done what I asked?

Do I need to set up software raid before installing?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help appreciated,

Bob
