Hi, Jeremy. At the risk of completely failing to answer your question...
We have been using nvidia's horrible drivers for years. There is certainly
an annoying overhead involved in making sure that you have the nvidia
driver built for each kernel/architecture variant in your fleet. But I
feel that the payoff is worth the extra effort. It is very nice to know
that you will have full-functioning support for any nvidia cards,
including bleeding edge ones. I have some hackish scripts for managing the
installation process which I would be happy to share if you're interested.
