Hi All,
I just came upon this issue with dhcpd not giving out IP's to unknown
hosts (i.e. hosts that don't have their MAC assigned to a specific IP in
the dhcpd.conf). There is a bugzilla on this and it is a gcc problem
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=150267). The
problems I got left messages in /var/log/messages that looked like so:
"May 11 08:36:12 localhost dhcpd: Lease with bogus binding state: 257
May 11 08:37:49 localhost dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0d:93:c1:f4:28 via
eth0: network LOCAL: no free leases"
The excerpt from the bugzilla report:
"YOU CANNOT COMPILE dhcpd WITH GCC-3.4.3-9 because gcc-3.4.3-9 has gcc
bug PR/18282 BZ bug #144358"
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144358>
There is an rpm you can get from here
(http://people.redhat.com/~jvdias/) that has a fix for this. Just
thought I would let everyone know in case you come across the same issue.
Regards,
