Hi Brett,
I think the easiest way would be to put the date in the name, like we 
have in the past.  So we could make the DVD and boot.iso image something 
like

SL-6-i386-2010-12-17-DVD1.iso

That way you would know when that image was made, and know if you have 
it already or now.
