If your server is sitting on a secure network, then no, it's not a
problem. If you server is exposed directly to the internet, then
personally I'd keep it on. I think Redhat originally defaulted to it
because of their (paranoid) client base: i.e. defence, finance and
government use.

Subject: Is removing selinux a bad idea?

Hi All,

I have always found selinux a pain in the neck, and in past have just
removed it to get my stuff working.

Question: what are the ramifications of just removing selinux from SL
6.1? Is selinux worth the effort?

Many thanks,
-T
