hi,

my dual-head setup at work with a docking station for my corporate
laptop is experiencing a hiccup. This setup has been working
flawlessly since its install with 6.0. I have a workaround.

First the problem. Since the security update that installed

one of the two screens is not detected. The monitor goes to sleep.
Annoyingly, it is the screen where the gdm login screen appears, so
graphical logins are in fact disabled.

In the Xorg.0.log I find these errors:

# grep EE Xorg.0.log*
Xorg.0.log:	(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
Xorg.0.log:(II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
Xorg.0.log:(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "HDA Intel HP Out at Ext Right Jack"
Xorg.0.log:(EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8)
Xorg.0.log.old:	(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
Xorg.0.log.old:(II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
Xorg.0.log.old:(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "HDA Intel HP Out at Ext
Right Jack"
Xorg.0.log.old:(EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8)

The workaround: oddly enough, if during the boot process when you see
'Scientific Linux 6' you press 'ESC' to see the boot process, both
screens get activated and then the dual-head extended desktop setup
works as usual.

Has anyone have such problems with dual head setups recently?
