Since Scientific Linux is a rebundling of RHEL, you really need to
look at the RHEL published latest SRPM's, or submit a bug report on
their Bugzilla, to get action on this kind of component security fix.
They've been very good about backporting security fixes to currently
supported, consistent, stable releases rather than pursuing the latest
greatest versions of software, which is why so many of us use it or
use these free rebuilds for critical work.
