I can confirm that IE7 and MS file explorer have problems with 
downloading 
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/50/iso/x86_64/SL-5.0-051607-x86_64-DVD.iso, 
whereas 
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/50/iso/i386/SL-5.0-050407-i386-DVD.iso 
seems to be no problem. And it's not related to FAT32/16 - I use NTFS.

No problem so far under Linux (wget, ...).
