I don't have that much experience, but I know if the past, the nvidia 
chipsets were a pain in the rear.  Because nvidia wanted you to download 
all their proprietary drivers.  As long as you don't mind doing that, 
then it's ok.
 From what I heard, the most irritating driver to download was the 
network driver.  Kinda hard to download that.  You'd figure they'd want 
to get at least the network driver into the kernel.
But maybe things have changed now with S.L. 4.4

I don't currently know.
