That didn't change the behavior at all. One reason for wanting to get
this working is I have some systems that started having issues with
embedded NIC's dropping off the network for no apparent reason. We
never found a good fix for that so add-on cards were installed, but they
do not have PXE boot capability. I do all my installs via PXE with a
kickstart and a vnc display. I also have a few systems that are remote,
so getting to them to reboot, hit F11 or whatever to select "Boot from
Network" is kind of a pain. Hand jamming the kernel and install image
with a tweak to grub.conf will let me get effectively a pxe boot
environment going so the install can happen and I can sit at my desk,
drink my coffee and play Mahjongg^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H monitor the
trouble ticket server.
