Hello,

I am trying to convert all my Linux boxes to a single distribution,
currently my network consists of a mix of RedHat 7-9, RHEL 3, Sl 3 and
Fedora Core 2 boxes. I recently tried to install SL 3.0.2 on a AMD K62
500MHz (i586 arch) and an error message poped up that this hardware was not
suppoerted under SL (or RHEL for that matter). The system is currently
running RH 9. What is the reason for not supporting the older 586 hardware
and has anyone managed to get around this with a custom kernel?

Thanks,

Ryan
