FWIW, I have had, and still have, the same problem on my machine at home
ever since I installed the latest kubuntu there. So the problem doesn't
seem to be SL-related. The machine also has an Nvidia card, but a
different model (NVIDIA Corporation NV5M64 [RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64
Pro]). I can change the resolution in the KDE Control Center, but not
with the <Ctrl><Alt> combination. Things that changed from before, where
the <Ctrl><Alt> combination worked, include: Xorg instead of XFree,
probably a different version of the nvidia driver, newer KDE, newer
kernel.
