Hi Graham,
So far mine is well behaved. But it is still early ... :'(
Try this:
--> Edit
--> Preferences
--> Advanced
--> General (tab)
--> disable "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Fixes all kinds of stuff in 38.x. I just leave it that way now.
