Thanks, I tried immediately: the r1000 driver is just what I need for the
Asus P5B (Core-2 / Intel P965-chipset).
 Some problems remain however :
 - It crashes early with "badness in i8042_panic_blink at
drivers/input/serio/i8042.c"
 - I still need to boot with linux all-generic-ide irqpoll to be able to
read the CD in
