The extra DVD has the EPEL repo enabled by default and the following packages were added compare to LiveDVDgnome:

dd_rescue
ddrescue
fuse-sshfs
gparted
iperf3
NetworkManager-openvpn-gnome
ntfs-3g
ntfsprogs

It's not yet decided, if the LiveDVDextra will be ever officially released by SL.
