Hi Yasha,
I don't know whether this will be of use in your case, but I have found that
I can get at some of the files on my android tablet if I go to the android
settings and choose "mount device as a camera". I gather that this means
mounting with ptp rather than mtp. As I say, this doesn't get me the whole
android file system, but I can transfer at least pictures, and probably at
bit more.
