I tried to get Image::Magick to work in SL 3.0.3, so I did:

yum install ImageMagick-perl

However, when I try to use it, I get

/usr/bin/perl: relocation error:
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/Image/Magick/Magick.so:
undefined symbol: InitializeMagick

yum confirms that I have these installed:

ImageMagick i386 5.5.6-7 db
ImageMagick-perl i386 5.5.6-7 db

and doesn't seem to think there are any missing deps.

rpm tells a similar story (not surprisingly):

ImageMagick-5.5.6-7
ImageMagick-perl-5.5.6-7

A search with Google produces a whole list of people reporting this
symptom, with one linux distribution or another; but very few signs of
a resolution of the problem - for the most part it's the usual
"download the latest version of the source tarfiles and build from
scratch" advice...

This might be a bit more relevant:

Any advice, please?
