Dear UAF user,

The UAF cluster has been configured to access a bundle
of open source software products packaged by a company called
The Written Word. FERMI CD is beginning using software packaged by
TWW instead of compiling and repackaging it ourselves for UPS.

The software products are available via the /opt/TWWfsw/bin
path which has been configured on all worker nodes in the UAF.
This path is now included at the end of a UAF user's PATH
environment variable.

Problems with packages distributed the TWW will be forwarded
to TWW for resolution.

The CSS-CSI TWW Project web page:
http://www-oss.fnal.gov/projects/tww/
included instructions on installation for systems
other than the UAF and also includes a list of products
currently being supported via TWW and not UPS.

The Written Word(TWW) - What is it?
The Written Word (TWW) is a company that supplies pre-built binaries of
various open source packages. These updates are distributed on CD-ROM
four times per year. In addition, The Written Word provides access to
patches, security fixes, new releases to existing packages, new
packages, online documentation, changelog information, and a central bug
tracking system for all packages.
