Dear attendees of the JTerm next month,
To participate in the tutorial section of the JTerm, it is necessary to
do a little work beforehand in getting computer accounts and Grid
certificates. Many of you already have these, but for those who do not,
here is a short list of what you need to do:
o Get an account on LPC computers so you can participate in
CMSSW/PAT/StarterKit tutorials
o Get a CMS-verified Grid certificate so you can submit to the Grid.
o In addition, you are expected to bring your own laptop to the session.
IT IS IMPERATIVE that you begin this process NOW as parts of this
process require action by people at CERN. CERN will close for Christmas
this weekend and not re-open until January 5. Details and instructions
are at this web site:
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Main/CRABatFNALPrerequisites
It was recently decided that the CRAB (remote submission) section at
this JTerm will be suitable for people who have already been running
CRAB and will focus on doing real analysis with CRAB. Between the
holidays we will have an online tutorial for *basic* CRAB set up to
bring new users up to speed.
Thanks,
Eric
